Originally developed to catch the “short striking” native trout in West Virginia streams, however, Short-Striker Classics are equally at home hooking Smallmouth, Crappie and Breim. The secret of the Short Striker is 3 Fold. First off, the enticing, mirror polished spinnerblade creates a flash which grabs the trouts attention. The hand tied fly, carefully chosen to “match the hatch” represents a favorite food source and causes an instinctive strike. Finally, the “trailing-treble” works in tandem with the main hook to yeilds a firmly hooked fish.
